The rise and fall of the inferior male

There is a general feeling of uncertainty for both the traditional male and female role in today’s Britain. Has 100 years of campaigning for a more equal society in terms of women’s rights led to a utopia which does not discriminate against either sex, or was this aim doomed from the original concept simply because men and women are biologically different and therefore no such equality was ever achievable.

Many recent studies have concluded, the belief that women could have it all were mis placed and far from liberating , this idea of total achievement has led to female misery , resulting in the break up of marriages, relationships and families. At the same time men have concluded that a role reversal leads to equal misery, and the “house husband” metro-sexual male is both unappealing to most females, frowned upon by male peers and eventually results in a desire to revert back to nature and a more traditional male role.

It could be argued that far from achieving more equality, the fight for female egalitarianism has in fact achieved the exact opposite of those early ideals. It could be argued that in 2007 a female is far more likely to be a victim of sexual assault , has less freedom in terms of the ability to walk safely at night or in the day without fear of assault and has far less respect in terms of male colleagues at work and at home.

Abuse by partners has been increasing for many years; females caught in such horrific circumstances seem even more trapped and susceptible to ever increasing levels of violence than at any time in the last 100 years. Is this really the freedoms Emily Pankhurst was fighting for?

The seventies was a particularly vocal period for the stereotypical feminist to protest about Miss World, the Benny Hill show, use of females in advertising, page 3 and a whole host of other issues this particularly vocal group felt it necessary to highlight and ultimately want to ban. The result today is the exact opposite to the one desired by this militant group, females are now degraded in the most appalling way on millions of internet sites, instead of Benny Hill we now have females prostituting themselves on UK sky adult channels as objects used to ensure men call a premium rate number in order to make huge profits for the male owners and the sex slave trade is a booming business in the UK.

Women now, more than ever are viewed as objects of gratification, fuelled by the internet and the so called new freedoms women now allegedly enjoy to use their bodies to tease and titillate on a daily basis no matter how inappropriate, with what some may consider to be unsuitable dress and a “asking for it” attitude. Males more often than not under the influence of drink do not understand this so called new freedom to express ones self and take a very different view to the one the females are trying to project (or perhaps the same, depending on the female!). Attacks are being perpetrated against younger and younger girls, not just by the alarming rise in paedophilia but also by younger men and boys who are showing equal contempt for so called female equality and view such equality as an opportunity to commit crimes of a sexual nature against unsuspecting or unwilling victims.

The human race exists and can only continue to exist on the simple act of a male and a female having sexual intercourse. In order for this to take place certain biological and chemical reactions and actions have been programmed into our DNA millions of years before any notion of social equality could even be discussed. This simple concept must be accepted, before we can move forward and genuinely look at how we make our society a fair and safe place for both men and women.

“To free women, to any extent from family ties is to free them to do other things; but if you merely expect them to do the same things as men they are likely to end up as inferior men. Is it not better to recognize the difference rather than pretend it does not exist” Plato 375 BC
