1. Name
The name of the party is the Traditional Democrats
2. Principles
The Traditional Democrats is founded on and will be guided in its policy formation by the following principles

Traditional Democrats will operate in a manner that is accountable and responsive to its members. |

Our goal is to build a strong law abiding country that seeks to eradicate unprovoked and unjustified violence against all UK citizens. |

| 2.3 |
We believe in equality for all law abiding UK citizens. |
| |
|
| 2.4 |
We believe in a constitutional monarchy, Parliament as a institution and the democratic process. |
| |
|
| 2.5 |
We believe in fiscal accountability. |
| |
|
| 2.6 |
We believe in the individuals right to own property |
| |
|
| 2.7 |
We believe in freedom of speech for all law abiding citizens |
| |
|
| 2.8 |
We believe in a competitive economy and the right of the individual to make profit and enjoy the fruits of their efforts to the greatest possible extent. |

| 2.9 |
We believe that all law abiding UK citizens should have access to quality health care regardless of their ability to pay. |
| |
|
| 2.10 |
We believe in the right of the victim above and over the right of the criminal and will actively seek to ensure justice is seen to be done where criminal activity takes place. |

| 2.11 |
We believe in Capital Punishment as an appropriate punishment for the most heinous of crimes |

| 2.12 |
We believe in and will actively ensure the humane treatment of all domestic animals. |
| |
|
| 2.13 |
We believe in the quality of the environment and believe the heritage of the UK should be protected. |
| |

| 2.14 |
We believe that the purpose of the UK and Her Majesty’s Government is to provide a safe climate for all individuals to be able to live without fear of attack or criminal behaviour, where initiative is rewarded, excellence is perused and a free market economy can thrive. |

3. Membership
Membership to the party is open to every citizen of the UK who:

Has attained the minimum age specified by law |
| |

| 3.2 |
Actively supports the principles of the Traditional Democrats |
| |
|
| 3.3 |
Signifies their intention to join the party and has paid the Party’s membership fee. |
| |
|
Every member is entitled to:
| 3.4 |
Participate in any meeting held by the Traditional Democrats and attend any Party Conference upon payment of the prescribed fee. |

| 3.5 |
Stand for election to any electoral ward, constituency or European district. |
| |
|
| 3.6 |
To vote for and stand for election as a delegate at any meeting called by the electoral constituency of which that person holds membership. |

| 3.7 |
As a minimum a record of all members shall be kept containing each member’s membership number, name, address and the name of the constituency to which that member belongs. A membership shall be considered valid when listed in the Party’s membership program, which may be subject to inspection and audit by the electoral commission. The membership fees shall be shared between the cost of contesting all local, European and General elections, promotion of the Party and administration costs of the Party. |

4. Leader
| 4.1 |
The leader is the chief public official of the party who shall promote its principles and policies. |

| 4.2 |
If the leader of the party is not a member of Parliament, the European Parliament or Ward councillor than they shall be entitled to receive a salary determined by the treasurer, campaign officer and Nominating Officer and shall be paid by the party. |

| 4.3 |
The leader shall be required to report to the party on an annual basis at conference and should seek to set out the policies and direction of the party. |

| 4.4 |
In the event of the death or retirement of the leader the deputy leader will be appointed as an interim leader until a successor is elected in the leadership selection process. |

| 4.5 |
The election of the leader shall be by way of a direct vote of all members. Each member of the party shall have one vote. |

| 4.6 |
A majority of one is required to win leadership. |
| |
|
| 4.7 |
Ballot papers will be sent out 10 weeks after the retirement or death of the leader, with all potential candidates names, the members will then have 10 weeks to consider each candidate and return their completed ballot. Votes returned after 10 weeks shall be considered invalid and will not count towards the final vote. |

| 4.8 |
Each candidate is entitled to have scrutineers at the count which will take place at Party HQ where all ballot papers will be sent and the result announced. |

| 4.9 |
The results will be made public. |
| |
|
5. Candidates
| 5.1 |
The selection committee for each constituency shall select the candidates to stand at local, European and General Elections. |
| |
|
| 5.2 |
The selection committee will be made up of the local party’s chairperson, the local treasurer and nominating officer. |
| |
|
| 5.3 |
The Leader of the party shall have the right to over rule any local committee for selection of a candidate to be a Member of Parliament at a UK general election only. |

| 5.4 |
Any decision may be appealed; the appeal will be put to the appeals panel, which shall be made up of the Nominating Officer, Treasurer and Campaigns officer at the party’s headquarters whose decision shall be final and binding. |

| 5.5 |
Every constituency shall provide organisational and financial support to every candidate successfully nominated by the party. |
