About Us
The Traditional Democrats were formed in March 2005 after a number of businesses, professional and blue collar workers, mothers, pensioners and traditional tradesman had concluded that for the first time in their life times no one would be speaking for them in the General Election of that year. The party was created with the aim of providing a credible alternative to the 3 main parties and more importantly a sensible alternative to the smaller extreme parties, particularly those on the far right of British politics.
It had become evident that there is a large number of the electorate whose views were not being represented by any party; a group whose fundamental believes belong to “old” Conservatism and more recently Thatcherism.
The Party has no nonsense common sense approach to politics, with party Head Quarters based in Worting House, Basingstoke, Hampshire. The Party also circulates a national monthly magazine – OPINION.
In September 2005 the Party held its first annual conference with great success.
The Traditional Democrats have made excellent progress, but need to build on its successes to ensure those without a voice are heard and more importantly represented.
In order to ensure growth is sustained , members and finances must continue to increase at a vigorous rate to make sure the Party is in a position to put forward candidates in every Local , European and General Election.
We would discourage extremists from joining the Traditional Democrats, the party has tough views on many diverse subject matters but each one is held with the basic principle of equality and respect for all law abiding citizens. Those wishing to join the party that have previous links with either the extreme right or left will not be allowed to do so.
It is our aim to start the debate that will lead to a fundamental change in the very cultural of our society. We cannot accept that regardless of age , social class or location the nation is prepared to tolerate any more of the policies being pursued by this Government and those suggested by the opposition that openly encourages and rewards those who want to do wrong, whilst at the same time discriminating against those who want to do right.
The Party as well as looking for those who wish to become members are also looking for those who aspire to pursue a political career at both a local and national level. We welcome and encourage those with political ambition who want to take an active part in British Politics and really make a difference.
Join us and together we will use Traditional Values to rebuild a modern Britain, a country that makes sure all citizens are protected from crime, receive free education including attendance at University, free SAFE health care and whose children are a genuine priority free from politically correct thinking that currently only serves to harm them and then fails to adequately protect them.
